Notice: I’m currently recovering from a recent injury, which temporarily limits my in‑water instruction.
The great news: I can still offer select classes poolside during my recovery.
At this time, no dates are available for booking, but after my surgery in early August I will be building out my schedule for the remainder of the year. If you’re interested in any of the classes listed below, please leave your contact information so I can notify you as soon as openings are confirmed.
Thank you for your patience and support—I look forward to seeing you at the pool soon!
Students are taught individually at their own skill level, with emphasis on overcoming fear of water and developing confidence in the water. From birth to 80 years each student will be taught water safety as priority #1. Survival float for infants is available upon request. After student has achieved the ability to float and breathe at will, we will focus on learning techniques for breathing and stroke technique.
The pool I am teaching at is being generously shared with me. Please note the location on the map below as the pool is not located in any city limits.

FAQ
What is the optimum age to begin lessons? I start teaching babies from six months and up. The earlier you begin lessons the less fear you have. I do water acclimation with babies as well as a less-rigorous survival floating if there is a high risk for baby (live on river, canals/water near your residence) . I am always open to parents input, we can work at the level you are most comfortable with.
What is the pool like? Are there others there during my lesson time? The pool is an indoor, heated pool. I only teach private lessons so you are in the water alone w/me. The next student may show up at the end of your lesson, but the atmosphere is quiet, relaxed, and private. There is a bathroom available, please be sure your child respects it (flushes, etc) If you have other children with you they must stay out of the water and at your side. The owners of the pool graciously allow me to use it and I maintain the utmost respect for their property. ALL SWIM DIAPERS and any trash you may have must go home with you after your lesson. Please help me maintain respect for the facilities.
How many lessons do you recommend? Consistency is more important than the number of lessons. Book what your budget allows, but try to space lessons as best you can. (once a week, every other week, once a month, etc.) Sporadic lessons are less effective and lasting as consistent lessons. Feel free to book as many or as few as you'd like. I offer once a week single lessons from Sept 1st to June 1st every year. They are available on the website as well.
Can you help an older child or adult overcome their fear of water and be safer and more confident in the water? YES! I specialize in fear of water. I witnessed a child drowning when I was 9, I was terrified of water until I became an adult and had to overcome my fear so I didn't pass it onto my kids. (Yes, fear of water is generational, those that are terrified usually have one or both parents who are uneasy around water) It is never too late to learn skills that will save your life, or your child's life, make swimming a joy, and affect your family for generations!
Do you teach group lessons? Can I put two or three of my kids in the same lesson? I only teach one person at a time. If you have multiple children, you may book as much time as you'd like and divide it amongst your kids as you see fit. Because I teach to the child's specific fear, level of skill and personality I find that they learn more in a 17 minute private lesson than in an hour lesson with two other swimmers.
If I need to cancel a lesson, will I be refunded? Lessons are non-refundable. If you are unable to make your lesson you can trade lesson times w/another student , just let me know about the change.
